This morning, I discovered Shane Koyczan. Shane is a spoken-word poet, artist and musician. An avid TED talks fan, I watched Shane’s presentation “To This Day….for the bullied and the beautiful”  and found myself drawn into the raw honesty of his performance, highlighted by the animation and music that accompanied his spoken word poem, “To This Day”. This led me to his website where I found “Instructions for A Bad Day”.

Everyone has bad days. Your workplace, your situation….it’s not unique to the problems, dysfunctions and challenges we all face. It’s how we react, how we respond, and how willing we are to put the bad days aside that determines whether or not we can rise above it all and create a better life for ourselves….a better workplace for our team.

Having more than your share of bad days in your workplace? Incorporate Shane’s video into your next team meeting, or share it with team members when you see they are having a string of bad days. Inspiration is the spark that lights that internal fire everyone has inside of them—-it’s that fire, when tended well that creates positive change in your workplace, and in your life.
